Gretna have signed Nathan Wright after the 19-year-old goalkeeper left Darlington at the end of the season.
Gretna caretaker boss David Irons is seeking goalkeeping cover
Wright impressed as a trialist in a couple of pre-season friendlies.
And Mick Wadsworth, Gretna's director of football, said: "Nathan is a good prospect. He kept a clean sheet on his debut last week."
Gretna are still seeking a first-choice goalkeeper following the end of Zbigniew Malkowski's loan spell from Hibernian at the end of last season.
The Pole, who is out-of-favour but still under contract at Easter Road, could yet return to the Scottish Premier League newcomers.
Meanwhile, Gretna have also been in talks with former Hibs goalkeeper Tony Caig, who is returning to the UK following a spell in Canada with the Vancouver Whitecaps.
