Gretna have signed former Livingston striker Colin McMenamin from Shrewsbury Town on a free transfer.

The 25-year-old scored 11 goals in English League Two last season after his move south from Almondvale.

He joins former Blackburn Rovers defender Craig Barr as manager Gretna Rowan Alexander's fourth summer signing as he prepares for the Uefa Cup.

Shrewsbury manager Gary Peters told the club website: "I think it's too good an opportunity for him to miss."

McMenamin started his career with Annan Athletic before moving to Newcastle United and Livingston.

He also has a spell on loan to Falkirk before heading for Shrewsbury last summer.

"We didn't pay a fee for Colin and there won't be a fee involved with him going to Gretna," added Peters.
