Former Gillingham player and coach Bill Collins has died at the age of 90.

The Northern Irishman joined the club from Luton in 1949 as a player and also served as scout, reserve manager, youth team boss and first team trainer.

Buster, as he was known, is credited with discovering former Gills players Steve Bruce and Micky Adams.

BBC Radio Kent's Tony Hudd said: "It was his warmth. He had time for everybody and he had this terrific conveyor belt of talent."

A minute's applause will be held before Gillingham's FA Cup tie against Dover on Saturday.
