Gillingham's Chris Palmer has told manager Mark Stimson he would like to play in just one position this season.
The 25-year-old summer signing from Walsall, who can play at both full-back positions and on both wings, is keen to shrug off his versatility reputation.
He told BBC Radio Kent: "I want to be stuck in one position and get my head down, and I feel that's on the wing."
But Stimson said: "He can play four positions comfortably. We'll look at him in pre-season and decide."
The Gills boss added: "Having worked with him for a few days you can see he is comfortable left footed and right footed.
"Over the pre-season games we'll play him in all those positions and decide which one is best for him and the team."
