Pressure off Gills boss Stimson

Mark Stimson
Gills boss Mark Stimson feels he has never been under pressure

The pressure has eased from Gillingham manager Mark Stimson after their 5-0 win over Morecambe.

It was the League Two club's biggest win since they beat Preston on the opening day of the 2001/2 season.

Stimson told BBC Radio Kent: "Fantastic result, fantastic performance. We have been missing a few players lately and that does harm your team.

"There's been no pressure on me. Pressure is when you've got three weeks to live or you can't pay the mortgage."

Stimson added: "I'm just going to keep doing what I believe in and wherever that takes me, it takes me."

It was the club's first game since Stimson transferred the captaincy from Andrew Crofts to Barry Fuller. It also saw the return of strikers Gary Mulligan to the starting line-up after injury and Mark McCammon to the squad after suspension.
