Gills boss in talks with striker

Stimson's side have been relegated from League One

Gillingham manager Mark Stimson has revealed he is in talks to bring a new striker to Priestfield for next season.

Stimson has refused to name his target, but has told the club's website that talks with the League One player are at an advanced stage.

"Talks are progressing well and we hope to have some news in the next week or two," he said.

Meanwhile, the Gills are waiting on the outcome of discussions with Stevenage Borough goalkeeper Alan Julian.

The 25-year-old is available on a free transfer and has been in negotiations with the Kent club.
