Gillingham have signed Wimbledon keeper Steve Banks on a free transfer report BBC Radio Kent.
Banks, who last played for the Gills in 1995, has agreed a two-year contract and will be available for the game against Preston on Saturday.
However, the relegation-threatened Gills are still facing an injury crisis ahead of the trip to Deepdale.
Banks is the only fit keeper at the club and they have only 11 other professionals available for the game.
Jones Awuah, who has started just one game for Gillingham, has been recalled from a loan spell at Dover Athletic.
Two of the other players have never started a first team game before, while five youth team players have been called into the squad.
