Gills dismiss Dyer rumours
Gillingham have denied reports they are preparing a bid for Barnsley striker Bruce Dyer at the end of the season.

The Tykes star has been in top form for the struggling Oakwell club, scoring 18 times, although his performances have not been enough to stop his side dropping into Division Two.

Dyer has made more than 100 appearances for Barnsley since a 700,000 move from Crystal Palace in 1998, but the forward was rumoured to be a target for a number of First Division clubs, including Gillingham.

However, Gills player-manager Andy Hessenthaler has rejected the suggestions and said: "I have not spoken to anyone concerning Bruce Dyer at this time."
