Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has revealed he has turned down offers from Sweden and Norway to coach their national teams.

On Tuesday, Notts County director of football Sven-Goran Eriksson also ruled himself out of the running to replace Lars Lagerback as Sweden manager.

"It's nice to be mentioned but I've made it clear to the people who have contacted me that I have a contract so it's a non-starter," said Hodgson.

Hodgson, 62, has extensive managerial experience of working in Scandinavia.

The Fulham manager began his managerial career with Swedish side Halmstad. He also had a five-year spell at Malmo and a two-year stint at Orebro, both in Sweden, and managed the Finland national side.

Hodgson has enjoyed a successful spell at Craven Cottage since taking over in 2007. He helped save Fulham from relegation and a season later guided them to seventh place in the Premier League, their highest ever finish.

That secured European football for the Cottagers and led to Hodgson being named on the shortlist for the Premier League manager of the year award.

He eventually lost out to Sir Alex Ferguson and has since spoken of his desire to coach the Great Britain football team at the 2012 Olympics.

Hodgson was also previously linked with the vacant England manager's job in 2000 having earlier guided Switzerland to the 1994 World Cup where they eventually lost to Spain in the last 16.

Other career highlights include managing Italian side Inter Milan to the Uefa Cup final in 1997 while also guiding Blackburn Rovers into the competition a season later.

"There is no point in them considering me," added Hodgson.
