Dikgacoi 'close to Fulham deal'

South Africa's Kagiso Dikgacoi in action

Midfielder Kagiso Dikgacoi says he is close to completing a move to Fulham.

The South Africa international, 24, had been close to joining the club in the summer, but the move broke down after he failed to obtain a work permit.

However, the Golden Arrows player hopes his second application will be more successful for the January window.

"Fulham are in the process of applying for a work permit for me, I am keeping my fingers crossed that everything will go according to plan," he said.

Dikgacoi has 18 international caps for South Africa, scoring two goals.

He impressed Fulham scouts during a friendly against Australia in London during the summer.

"It has always been a dream of mine to ply my trade in Europe and I hope that I do get my opportunity in the English Premier League," he told South African newspaper The Citizen.

"There has been interest from other teams in Europe who want me to come for trials, but I would prefer joining Fulham who know me and are aware what I am capable of after spending some time with them in July.

"And with them trying to get me a work permit is proof that they are really interested in my services."
