Stockdale makes Cottagers switch

David Stockdale
Stockdale has penned a two-year deal at Fulham

Fulham have completed the signing of Darlington goalkeeper David Stockdale for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old has signed a two-year deal at Craven Cottage and becomes boss Roy Hodgson's second summer signing.

Darlington boss Dave Penney said of the move: "David has had a magnificent season for us and joining a Premier League club is great for the lad."

Stockdale made just 50 appearances for the Quakers after signing on a free transfer from York City in July 2006.

Stockdale will vie for places with former Middlesbrough keeper Mark Schwarzer and Finnish international Antti Niemi at the Cottage.
