Fulham have announced refurbishment plans to increase the capacity of Craven Cottage by 4,000 seats.
Mohamed Al Fayed wants to keep Fulham at Craven Cottage
The stadium currently holds 26,000 supporters and the club have approached the local council to extend to 30,000.
Fulham are proposing to increase the capacity in the Riverside Stand by removing the executive boxes and also open the riverside walk to the public.
If the plans are approved, the Cottagers will commence work at the end of the current season.
Chairman Mohamed Al Fayed said: "Craven Cottage is synonymous with Fulham FC and it is vital that the club is given every opportunity to develop the facilities available, to enable it to remain at its home.
"I am confident that an increased capacity and further improvements to the facilities can help us reach and maintain our business objectives."
The club will also provide £1m in funding to help council plans to rejuvenate nearby Bishop's Park.
