Fulham complete Goma deal
Alain Goma
Alain Goma has joined Fulham's promotion fight
First Division leaders Fulham have completed the £4m transfer of Newcastle's French international defender Alain Goma.

The 28-year-old has agreed personal terms and passed a medical to become the Craven Cottage club's record signing.

Goma is expected to go straight into manager Jean Tigana's side for Saturday's match at Crystal Palace.

The Cottagers will be looking to extend their 14-point advantage at the top of the table at Selhurst Park.

The completion of the move ends an unhappy and injury-hit spell in the north-east for the former Paris St Germain and Auxerre star.

He was brought to St James' Park by Ruud Gullit in July 1999 for £4.7m.
