Canada goalkeeper Josh Wagenaar has agreed a one-year contract with Falkirk after leaving Yeovil Town.

The 24-year-old has passed a medical with the Scottish Premier League club and his move will be confirmed once he receives international clearance.

Manager Eddie May told Falkirk's website: "His training performances have been excellent.

"He has a genuine work ethic about him. Jim Preston, the goalkeeping coach, has been delighted with him."

Wagenaar, who spent two weeks on trial with Falkirk, has two caps with Canada.

He had spells in the Netherlands with Den Haag and in Denmark with Lyngby without becoming a first-team regular.

But, last term, he became a regular with English League One outfit Yeovil but rejected the offer of a new contract as he wanted to play at a higher level.

Wagenaar's arrival was followed by confirmation from Falkirk that Scotland Under-21 goalkeeper Jamie Barclay had joined East Stirlingshire on a season-long loan.

Barclay had spells on loan to Shire and Third Division rivals Berwick Rangers last season.
