Bullen joined Falkirk last summer after leaving Sheffield Wednesday
Veteran defender Lee Bullen has been named reserve team manager by Falkirk after being told he would not feature in manager Eddie May's top team.
May, who succeeded John Hughes this summer, told his club website: "Lee wasn't going to feature in my first-team plans.
"But I have been extremely impressed by his leadership qualities."
The 38-year-old Bullen added: "It was definitely the route I wanted to take. I am really excited about it."
Bullen made 37 appearances for Falkirk after signing last summer following his departure from Sheffield Wednesday.
He had started his career with Stenhousemuir then travelled the world with stops at Stanmore, Wollongong Wolves, Kui Tan, Golden, South China, Kalamata and Dunfermline Athletic before his stint in England.
May took over after Hughes moved to Scottish Premier League rivals Hibernian.
He is being assisted at Falkirk Stadium by former Scotland defender Steven Pressley, who has retired from playing, while Alex Smith is director of football.
