Hughes questions handball verdict
Falkirk head coach John Hughes
Hughes was upset by some crucial refereeing decisions
Falkirk boss John Hughes accepted his side had been beaten by a fantastic performance from Celtic winger Aiden McGeady in the 4-0 SPL defeat.

But the Bairns boss wondered what might have been had referee Dougie McDonald ruled Ryan Conroy had handled a Gerard Aafjes header on the line.

"I need to see it on the television," Hughes said.

"But from what I have been told it was a stonewall handball and that really changes the game."

The game was delicately balanced at 1-0 when Aafjes header appeared to strike Conroy's right arm on the line preventing a certain Falkirk equaliser.

Scott McDonald had given Celtic an early lead from the penalty spot and McGeady added three more.

Two of the Celtic winger's goals came in the second-half after Falkirk were reduced to ten men when Darren Barr was red-carded for a second bookable offence

"We had a right go and maybe played a little bit open but we had nothing to lose," Hughes continued.

"The way we have been playing, I like to come to these places and try to express ourselves."
