Tam McManus joined Falkirk in the summer
The 25-year-old joined from First Division Dundee in the summer.
Falkirk head coach John Hughes told his club website: "He has worked extremely hard in training and wants to go and play in a first-team elsewhere.
"Although I am slightly disappointed, I understand his situation and Tam leaves the club with out best wishes."
McManus had prior spells with Boston, Airdrie, East Fife and Hibernian.
