Falkirk are aiming to sign goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel after his successful loan spell last season.
Schmeichel was on loan at Falkirk last season
Schmeichel, 20, has returned to managerless Manchester City, but Falkirk head coach John Hughes wants the player to sign for the Bairns.
"Kasper is aware we want to bring him back to the club and once City appoint a new manager the picture will be much clearer," Hughes told the club website.
"Hopefully, we will be able to bring him back to the club this season."
Schmeichel, son of former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter, joined the Bairns in January and helped the club finish seventh in the SPL.
Manchester City are searching for a new manager after the departure of Stuart Pearce, who was sacked in May.
