Exeter City have signed Northampton Town striker Guillem Bauza after the Spaniard turned down a new deal to stay at Sixfields.

The 26-year-old scored four goals in 10 appearances for the Cobblers after joining on a short-term deal in March.

Bauza told BBC Radio Devon: "I feel excited and am looking forward to the new season.

"I'm hoping to bring my skills and professionalism to the team and try and get a good feeling about being here."

He added: "I can see Exeter City improving and an improvement would be getting into the play-offs."

Northampton Town manager Gary Johnson said: "We wish him well for the future.

"He did well for us and we were good for him, we thank him for his time with us and now we move on."

Bauza was a member of the Swansea City squad that won promotion to the Championship in 2008.
