Tisdale wants settled first team

Exeter City boss Paul Tisdale has said he sees reducing the size of his first team squad as a priority.

Tisdale has used 24 players in league and cup competitions so far this season, but he now wants to focus on creating a settled first team.

The City boss told BBC Radio Devon: "Every player has had an opportunity to find their feet at this level.

"But we have to start deciding who we're going to spend more time with on the pitch," he added.

Tisdale was quick to point out that his desire to get a more settled first team was not due to any dissatisfaction with the performances so far.

He said: "We're learning very quickly and are encouraged for what may come later.

"We've been competitive in every game and that's been one of the major wishes on my part.

"We've managed to play safe with our system, remain competitive and to this point most people have had a go at it and I'm very pleased."

Tisdale will have the opportunity to implement his plans for the first team on Saturday when the Grecians travel to Huddersfield in League One.
