Exeter City assistant manager John Yems has left the club.
Yems, who joined the Grecians from Grays Athletic in February 2008, said he did not want to move his family from Sussex in order to do the job justice.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the club and have loved every minute of it," Yems told the club's website.
"I know I can't do the job I need to do unless I'm based here permanently. When you've got a family it isn't that easy to just up sticks and relocate."
Exeter's manager Paul Tisdale, was full of praise for his former colleague, particularly in regard to his scouting work.
He said: "John was a key part of the team last season and his contribution can't be underestimated."
City brought in Andy Tillson as first-team coach in June to work alongside Tisdale.
