Veteran midfielder Paul Buckle has re-joined Exeter City for a third playing spell with the Grecians.
The 34-year-old has been coaching the youths at St James Park and will play for no wages after leaving Weymouth.
"We are thin in the midfield area and are delighted Paul has agreed to join on a short-term basis," manager Alex Inglethorpe told the Express and Echo.
"It is a tremendous gesture to do this for free, and a measure of the man that he is helping out in this way."
