Everton's Louis Saha relieved after penalty miss

Louis Saha
Saha scored his 15th goal of the season against Chelsea

Everton striker Louis Saha expressed his relief at scoring the winning goal against Chelsea after his first-half penalty was saved.

Saha's brace in the 2-1 win ensured the Blues first victory over the west London side side in 10 years.

"To get that goal was really important especially when you miss a big opportunity," the Frenchman told BBC Radio Merseyside.

"It was brilliant. If we keep playing like this we can upset many teams."

The former Manchester United striker, who has 15 goals this season, knew the side needed a result against Chelsea following the disappointment of the Merseyside derby defeat to Liverpool on Saturday.

"It was hard to take as we didn't play badly against Liverpool," Saha continued. "So to get that result was really painful to take.

"We came out against Chelsea with big belief and we did the job. I'm really happy because the fans deserve to see Everton win more games like this and that's what we've done.

"It's a big month for us. We've got a big game with Sporting Lisbon, then straight after is Manchester United - so it's a big month."
