Jagielka upbeat on derby chances

Marouane Fellaini
Fellaini picked up his 10th booking of the season against Hull on Saturday

Phil Jagielka says Everton have the resources to cope without midfielder Marouane Fellaini in next week's derby match against Liverpool.

The Belgian's booking against Hull on Saturday, his 10th, keeps him out of both league and FA Cup derby clashes.

"We'll have to get on without him for both games and hopefully keep him fresh for the games after that", Jagielka told BBC Radio Merseyside.

"The squad is so together, and that's been proved on the pitch."

Jagielka added: "Tim Cahill's come in as centre forward and done a fantastic job.

"It's always going to be a tough game, especially at Anfield. They're brimming with confidence and flying high, but I'm sure it'll be an interesting game.

"We've got the [FA Cup] one afterwards as well, so it's a bit of a strange week, but an exciting one at the same time."

The Premier League game takes place on Monday 19 January, with the FA Cup third round tie following on Sunday 25 January.
