Joleon Lescott
Joleon Lescott has won the vote of his Everton team-mates again

Everton's Player of the Season and Players' Player of the Season Joleon Lescott is focussed on helping his side earn at least a point on Sunday.

The England defender knows if Everton can avoid defeat against Newcastle they will guarantee UEFA Cup qualification.

"Newcastle have been playing well recently," he told BBC Merseyside. "But we're confident in our own ability that we can get the result."

"The likes of Andrew Johnson and Yakubu can score goals against any team."

He added that he expects a busy afternoon against Newcastle's rejuvenated strike force.

"People said it wouldn't work," said Lescott. "But they have shown recently that they can all play together and they're all scoring goals."

Lescott is coming to the end of his second season at Everton following his £5m summer move from Wolves and has been an ever present in David Moyes' team this term.

Other winners at Everton's end of season awards included:

Victor Anichebe: Young Player of the Season.

Leon Osman: Goal of the Season, for his strike against Larissa in the UEFA Cup.

John Irving: Reserve Team Player of the Season for the second year running.
