Van der Meyde given final warning
Andy Van der Meyde
Van der Meyde has been warned about his conduct
Everton winger Andy Van der Meyde has been told by manager David Moyes that he is on his "last chance" at the club.

The 26-year-old Dutchman was taken to hospital last week after claiming his drinks had been spiked on a night out.

Moyes fined him for socialising two days before a match and told Everton's website: "We like players to enjoy themselves but at the right time.

"If I hear of him stepping out of line again, there will not be another opportunity for him."

He added: "That's why you have a contract and why you agree to club rules. You agree to the things expected of a professional footballer.

"If Andy doesn't fit into that, I'm sorry, but it won't work for him."

However, Moyes has been happy with the player's response to the fine.

"I would say, though, that he's a good lad, very remorseful and he's determined to show that he can play for Everton," he said.

"That's what I want him to do. There's a talent and a pedigree there and we want him to succeed."
