Van der Meyde signs Everton deal
Andy Van der Meyde
Van der Meyde's move had been in doubt because of his injury
Dutch winger Andy van der Meyde has completed his 2m move from Inter Milan to Everton after passing a medical.

The 25-year-old is currently recovering from a minor groin problem but should be fit to make his Everton debut some time in September.

"I am happy I can show my football again because it has been a long time for me," he told the club website.

"I believe in the team and the club and the trainer and I think it will be a good year for us," he added.

Van der Meyde, who began his career at Ajax, can play on either flank or as an attacking midfielder.
