Everton midfielder Thomas Gravesen has warned that selling Wayne Rooney could influence his own future at Goodison Park.
Gravesen has 12 months left on his current deal and is due to meet manager David Moyes to decide whether his future lies away from Goodison Park.
His agent John Sivebaek said: "Selling Rooney would not improve the situation.
"Thomas has ambitions about playing in a team who play European football every year."
"There will be a meeting when Thomas arrives for pre-season training and it will be resolved then," said Sivebaek.
"He'd be happy to stay but it'd take a big offer for him to sign a new deal."
He added: "The rules say that in 12 months' time, he could leave for nothing and
that would be a shame for Everton because he is a good player.
"We haven't spoken to Everton yet and we haven't spoken to any other club but we know there is a lot of interest in him and it may be time to try something else."
Gravesen will not report for pre-season training until the end of July after figuring at Euro 2004 for Denmark.
