Unsworth mulls Bolton deal
Everton defender David Unsworth
Everton defender David Unsworth is on the verge of a move to Bolton.

The 30-year-old, out of contract at Everton in the summer, has rejected a new two-year deal at Goodison Park.

Bolton boss Sam Allardyce has confirmed his interest in the former Aston Villa and West Ham player who is seeking a three-year contract.

"David Unsworth is a quality player who does interest me - we've opened talks with his representative and I would be keen to sign him," said Allardyce.

He added: "He has proven Premiership experience and he would fit in well with our talented squad."

On Tuesday, Unsworth's agent Haydn Evans told Everton's website that talks between the player and Bolton were well advanced.

"It is a little premature to say the deal is done, but we are currently in talks with Bolton," said Evans.

"He was offered two years plus the option of another year at Everton, but he has turned it down."

"It was nothing to do with money, just that there was no guarantee of a third year at Everton, which David wants."
