Everton eye Breen
Gary Breen celebrates his World Cup goal for the Republic of Ireland against Saudi Arabia
Breen had a good World Cup with Ireland
Republic of Ireland defender Gary Breen has held talks with Everton over a possible switch to Goodison Park.

Breen is without a club after his contract with Coventry expired but he impressed many with his World Cup performances.

The 28-year-old met Everton boss David Moyes recently and has made no secret of his desire to return to the top flight.

Moyes told the club's website: "I can say we've had talks with Gary Breen since he's come back with the Republic team.

"He's available on a Bosman, which makes him a good target for us, because he is a decent player and one that's available for no cost, so that's a possibility also.

"But we have been in talks with several players and have made enquiries for more than 10 players to see if they are available, if the prices would be suitable for us to pay."
