Ginola leaves Goodison
Ginola failed to impress under David Moyes
Ginola hardly played for Everton under David Moyes
Everton have released David Ginola and Alec Cleland - and a decision is expected soon regarding Swedish winger Jesper Blomqvist.

But Leeds defender Michael Duberry and goalkeepers Ian Walker and Kelvin Davies are Everton targets as new manager David Moyes begins rebuilding the team.

Ginola leaves the club after just three months at Goodison Park.

The Frenchman joined from Aston Villa in February - and was signed shortly before the departure of manager Walter Smith.

Ginola failed to make much of an impression, and appeared only once as a substitute following the arrival of new manager David Moyes.

The 35-year-old winger has left the club under the Bosman ruling and must now contemplate whether he has a future in English football.

Cleland, who arrived at the club in 1998, has also been released after fewer than 30 starts in an injury-ravaged spell on Merseyside.

  Ginola's key dates
1967: Born near Toulon.
1990: France debut v Albania.
1992: Joins PSG.
1995: Signs for Newcastle for 2.5m.
1997: Joins Spurs for 2m.
1998: Omitted from France World Cup squad.
2000: Joins Aston Villa for 3m.
2001: Constant rows with John Gregory.
2002: Joins Everton in February.
2002: Released by David Moyes in May.

Less clear-cut however is Blomqvist's immediate future.

The former Manchester United winger is in 'ongoing' talks over his future and a decision on whether or not he will be part of Moyes' squad next season is expected to be made in the next 48 hours.

A club spokesman said: "We can confirm that David Ginola and Alec Cleland have both left the club.

"Jesper Blomqvist's situation still has to be sorted out, though a decision is expected shortly."

Meanwhile, Duberry is expected to leave Elland Road - and Leeds are said to want 3.5m for the England defender.

Everton are unwilling to match United's asking price, but could offer a compromise 2.5m.

And Wimbledon's Kelvin Davies is training with the club as manager David Moyes' attempts to stregthen the goalkeeping department - though Leicester's Ian Walker is also under consideration.
