Dempsie returns to Borough Briggs

Defender Dempsie rejected offers from Second Division clubs

Defender Allan Dempsie has returned for a second spell with Elgin City after being released by Ayr United.

The 26-year-old full-back helped Ayr win promotion to Division One and will now hope to lift Elgin off the bottom of Division Three.

Dempsie, who began his career with Hibernian, had a five-year spell at Borough Briggs before joining Ayr.

Elgin boss Ross Jack said Dempsie had rejected offers from Second Division clubs to return to his former club.

He made 38 starts and one substitute appearance during his season at Somerset Park.
