Former Scotland forward Gordon Durie has returned to his first club, East Fife, as first-team coach under new manager John Robertson.

It follows the departure of Scott Crabbe, who had been assistant to Stevie Crawford, who stood down at the Division Two outfit last month.

Crabbe had initially remained with the club under former Hearts team-mate Robertson but has decided to leave.

Crawford remains at the club as a player, along with Durie's son, Scott.

The 44-year-old Durie joined East Fife in 1981 and went to to play for Hibernian, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Rangers and Hearts.

He also won 43 caps for Scotland, scoring seven goals and had already been a regular in the New Methil stand to watch his defender son.

The 19-year-old started his own career at Rangers before heading for East Fife.

Under Robertson, the Fifers lost 4-1 to Dumbarton but followed that up with a win by the same scoreline over Alloa.
