Dunfermline loan Mole from Hearts

Hearts striker Jamie Mole
Jamie Mole has scored one goal in nine starts for Hearts this season

Dunfermline Athletic have signed Hearts striker Jamie Mole on loan until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old Englishman has scored once in nine starts for the Tynecastle side in the current campaign.

He told Hearts' website: "While it is always my intention to demonstrate my ability at Hearts, I believe more regular football will be beneficial.

"I have watched other players benefit from loan spells and believe it can help my career development at Hearts."

Mole, who spent the majority of last season on loan at Queen of the South, netted spectacularly from 30 yards in Hearts' 2-1 victory over St Mirren earlier in this campaign.

He hopes to make his mark at East End Park now and said: "For the rest of this season, I will be concentrating on playing my part in helping Dunfermline's push towards the Clydesdale Bank Premier League."

Dunfermline director of football Jim Leishman said: "Manager Jim McIntyre saw him play in reserve games and, when he came on in pre-season against us, he looked a strong and useful player.

"It's a great opportunity for him to see what he can do at first-team level if he gets selected."

Meanwhile, Hearts defender John Armstrong has extended his loan spell with Third Division Cowdenbeath until the end of the season.
