Kenny hails fitting finale to tie
Dunfermline manager Stephen Kenny
Stephen Kenny's side have beaten Rangers and Hearts
Dunfermline manager Stephen Kenny thought his team deserved to knock holders Hearts out of the Scottish Cup but are still seeking a cutting edge.

"We have not scored a lot of goals of late - that has been our problem - and we did not create a lot of goalscoring chances," he said after the 1-0 win.

"So there is still room for improvement, but I think we got our rewards in the end.

"It was a thrilling cup tie and Scott Wilson's goal was a fitting finale."

Kenny admitted that Hearts had their opportunities.

"Hearts had a few chances, but they are going to have them because they are a team full of internationalists," he said.

"But I felt we defended resolutely. Dorus De Vries did well with a couple of good saves to keep us in it."

Kenny thought the addition of a couple of wingers during the transfer window had improved his side.

"Our wide players excite the crowd," he said, hoping that the cup wins over Rangers and Hearts could be translated to lifting his side off the bottom of the Scottish Premier League.

"We are trying to improve the team, it's important the supporters can relate to the players.

"At this moment, it's about survival and it's important we can put out a team the supporters can be proud of."
