Jim Leishman has confirmed that Stephen Simmons will spend the night in hospital following a clash of heads with Dundee United's Alan Archibald.
The Dunfermline midfielder was taken off in the 25th minute after suffering concussion in the scoreless draw.
"Stephen is away to hospital and the doctors think he will have to be kept in over night," said boss Leishman.
"It was a blow for us because we had worked on Stephen coming forward from midfield to cause United problems."
Leishman also revealed that Scott Muirhead's substitution four minutes before the interval was due to a hamstring injury, but could not tell how long the left-midfielder was likely to be ruled out for.
