Diego Junior is still too young for the Napoli first-team

Dunfermline Athletic chairman John Yorkston has still not ruled out bringing Diego Maradona Junior to East End Park.

The teenage son of the Argentine legend is currently with his father's former club, Napoli.

Dunfermline are just one of a number of clubs around Europe being considered for a possible loan move.

And Yorkston told the Dundee Courier: "I have spoken to his agent in the past week, continuing the conversations we had a while ago.

"Obviously this would be an exciting, high-profile signing if it came off.

"But at this stage I can't tell whether it will.

"And it should be said Maradona is only one of a number of people we are talking to at the moment."

Dundee, Kilmarnock and First Division Clyde also confirmed that they had been contacted by Maradona's agent.

At 16, the young Maradona earned one Italian youth cap and has become a regular in the youth side at Napoli, where his father remains a legend.

Diego Senior twice won the Serie A title with Napoli, in 1987 and 1990, as well as the Uefa Cup in 1999 and the Coppa Italia in 1987.

He refused to recognise the child as his own until the Italian courts confirmed that the boy was his son after DNA tests were carried out in 1993.
