Dundee United have completed the transfer of Cameroon International Mvondo Atangana.

The 21-year-old striker signed a long term deal at Tannadice this morning before flying out to join his international team mates to complete their preparations for the Sydney Olympics.

However, Atangana has agreed to return to Scotland next week to make his competitive debut in the CIS Insurance Cup against Airdrie.

The young forward has been capped on ten occasions as well as representing his country at U-21 level.

United manager Alex Smith moved to secure the services of Atangana after an impressive showing as a trialist in Tuesday's U-21 game with Dunfermline, during which he scored with a wonderful 25-yard strike.

Atangana will hope to forge a partnership with his countryman Alphonse Tchami, who made his United debut last weekend.
