Brewster will play again this season at the age of 39

Dundee United player-manager Craig Brewster was disappointed as his team lost out 2-1 at home to Falkirk on the first day of the season.

He said: "It is hard to accept especially after taking the lead, but I don't think we played any great stuff for long spells today.

"We finished the game strongly but Falkirk did not panic when they went a goal down. They were composed.

"But we have to keep working away - we're here for the long haul."
