Dundee United have agreed new three-year deals with midfielders Mark Kerr and Barry Robson.
Barry Robson had joined from Inverness Caley Thistle
They both had 12 months left on their original contracts and have signed extensions that will take them through to the summer of 2008.
Manager Gordon Chisholm is keen to get most of his players to live in Tayside as part of any new contracts.
Kerr will move up from his Glasgow home later this year, while Robson is already based in Dundee.
United recently re-signed full-back Mark Wilson, despite links to Celtic and Everton, along with defenders David McCracken, Stuart Duff and Garry Kenneth.
Chisholm said: "I'm delighted that the latest two have agreed to stay with us and it's a great boost ahead of the Motherwell game.
"Mark and Barry probably could have hung on to see what offers they got in the summer, but the fact they were both very keen to stay shows that we are moving in the right direction.
"We've now got all the younger lads tied up on good contracts, so hopefully the bond between them will continue to grow.
"I said when I got the job that one of the things I was going to do was build a better team spirit and that's certainly happened.
"I've also been keen to get them up staying in the area and we've made great progress on that front.
"It's important that they see each other away from work as well because it is good for morale."
