Dundee transfer list two more
Nicky Banger is the latest casualty of the Bonetti reign

Dundee manager Ivano Bonetti has added striker Nicky Banger and midfielder Frank van Eijs to the transfer list at Dens Park.

Five players were informed last week that any offers for them would be considered, among them Steven Boyack.

Bonetti also transfer-listed Hugh Robertson, Willie Miller, Lee Sharp and Barry Elliott.

As Banger and van Eijs were added to the transfer list, Dundee chief executive Peter Marr stressed that the decision to sell Boyack was taken because he has only one year remaining on his current deal.

Marr insisted that the decision made business sense with the player unlikely to sign a new contract, pointing to the loss of Iain Anderson without a fee a year ago.

"Steven Boyack is a player of outstanding ability and during his time at Dundee, his commitment to the club has never been in doubt," said Marr.

"The decision to place him on the transfer list was taken in the knowledge that he would almost certainly have moved on for nothing in a year's time and it was taken by a manager with the long-term future of this club in mind."

He also revealed that "at least two players" would arrive at Dundee in the next few days as Bonetti's rebuilding continued.
