Mearns clinches deal with Dundee

Mearns in action for Hearts reserves last season

Dundee have signed trialist Eddie Mearns on a one-year contract with the option to extend the deal.

The midfielder is a former Hearts youth player and took part in Dundee's recent friendly win over Stirling Albion.

So far this summer the Dens Park club have signed Mickael Antoine-Curier, Mark Gilhaney, Craig McKeown, Eric Paton and Darren Young.

The First Division side missed out on promotion last season after finishing behind league winners Hamilton Accies.
