Caballero set for return
Fabian Caballero has been out since September
Fabian Caballero has been out since September
Dundee's Argentine striker Fabian Caballero could return to first-team action as early as Saturday.

Caballero has been recovering in Bologna following a serious knee injury but the nature of his rehabilitation means he will come back match fit.

It is also understood Dundee have approached Georgian internationalist defender Zurab Khizanishvili, currently on trial at Fulham.

The player, once rated at 7m, is available for nothing after Fifa deemed his contract with Lokomotiv Tblisi to be void.

The player was the subject of interest from Arsenal last year but the Gunners were put off by Lokomotiv's asking price of 7m.

Dundee manager Ivano Bonetti is due back in Scotland on Tuesday and is known to be looking to bring in new players.

Athole Still, the player's British representative, said: "Ivano Bonetti asked me about Khizanishvili and said he needed a defender like him. I know they have already contacted the player's agent."

Meanwhile Dundee are set to take Farense's Spanish defender Rubio on loan, according to sources in Portugal.

The 24-year-old is to spend 10 days with the injury-hit club, according to Farense's Director of Sport.

He said: "He will leave today for 10 days with Dundee. The business will certainly be good for both parties - Farense and the player."

Rubio's full name is Oscar Montalban Rubio and started his career with Mallorca before moving to Real Madrid, where he played in the reserves.
