Dumbarton capture Hunter at last

Hunter was on Clyde's books

Dumbarton have secured striker Roddy Hunter at the second attempt.

The Sons had approached Montrose for the 24-year-old in January, but their Third Division rivals' boss, Steven Tweed, rejected their offer.

Hunter was out-of-contract this summer and will now take the step up to Division Two after the Sons' promotion.

The striker, who previously played for Albion Rovers and Clyde, scored 13 goals in 26 games for Montrose during their Division Three campaign.
