Former Aberdeen youth player Kenny Haswell has signed a one-year deal with Third Division club Dumbarton.
The 19-year-old central defender was released by Aberdeen in May, and said he was eager to claim a first-team place with the Sons.
"The opportunity to play week in, week out is a big attraction to me," Haswell told the club website.
"My time at Aberdeen was brilliant in terms of experience and I hope to progress at Strathclyde Homes Stadium."
Meanwhile, midfielder Chris Gentile has agreed a contract extension to keep him at the club until May 2008.
Dumbarton assistant boss Jim Clark said: "It's good that Chris that has signed on again and he will give us options in midfield."
