Rovers agree permanent Mills deal

Doncaster Rovers have agreed a deal to sign Matt Mills from Premier League side Manchester City.

The 21-year-old has been on loan at Doncaster this season and played a starring role in Sunday's League One play-off final win over Leeds United.

Rovers chairman John Ryan told BBC Radio Sheffield: "Mills said he would be more than delighted to sign for Doncaster Rovers."

The defender is expected to cost the club around £300,000.

Ryan added: "I asked Matty on the Wembley pitch if he fancied staying with us for next season.

"In reality we needed to be a Championship club to sign him so we are hopeful a deal can be done."
