Rovers pick up Rangers teenager
Ross McCormack
McCormack scored in the Champions League
Doncaster Rovers have signed forward Ross McCormack on loan from reigning Scottish champions Rangers.

The 19-year-old striker becomes Dave Penney's third signing of the January transfer window following the arrival of Alan Blayney and Graeme Lee.

McCormack arrived at Rangers as a trainee in 2003 and made his debut for the first team against Motherwell in May 2004.

He also scored in Rangers' 1-1 draw against Porto in the Champions League.

But, with Peter Lovenkrands in scoring form, Kris Boyd being signed from Kilmarnock and Dado Prso and Nacho Novo back from injury, McCormack's first-team chances were likely to be more limited.

The 19-year-old said: "I'm going down there to score a few goals and get some regular football.

"I got frustrated on the bench at Ibrox and didn't think the chance was going to come this season.

"I thought it was time to get some experience, but I'll be back at Ibrox."
