Doncaster midfielder Sean Thornton faces four weeks on the sidelines following ankle surgery.
Thornton, 22, underwent the operation after sitting out Rovers' defeat at Colchester last Saturday.
Boss Dave Penney told Rovers' website: "It's a shame but we need to clear up the niggly injury to allow him to play to the level we know he can."
Thornton has started six games for Doncaster this season following his move from Sunderland in the summer.
