Doolan has signed a 12-month extension to his existing contract to keep him at Doncaster until June, 2005.
The 29-year-old former Mansfield Town player joined Doncaster from Barnet in March and after helping Rovers to promotion from the Conference has been influential in their rise to second place in Division Three this season.
Meanwhile, boss Dave Penney is talking to Sunderland to try and extend striker Chris Brown's loan spell from the Stadium of Light for the rest of the season.
Doncaster face competition from another club for the 18-year-old's services but Brown, who has scored six goals in eight games for Penney's side, is keen to stay with Rovers.
Meanwhile, defenders Mark Albrighton and Jamie Price are recovering following surgery to clear up knee cartilage injuries and midfielder Franny Tierney could return from injury in the reserves on Tuesday.
