Albrighton to join Doncaster
Doncaster manager Dave Penney has lined up his first signing of the summer after agreeing terms with Telford defender Mark Albrighton.

The 26-year-old centre-back will move to Belle Vue on a free transfer on July 1 after his current deal at Telford expires.

"We've agreed a deal with him and he's passed his medical," said Penney.

"He did very well at Telford, whose back three, individually, were probably the best in the league.

"We are delighted to have got him. He will give us that bit of strength in the air.

"He's a decent footballer and will give us strength in both boxes, which is what we've been missing."

Penney's interest in other players to strengthen his squad will depend on whether midfielder Jamie Paterson and winger Andy Watson stay at the club.

Watson has been on trial at Sunderland, while Paterson, who has attracted interest from a couple of League clubs, is still considering a new contract offer from Rovers.

Penney, who has lost midfielder Kevin McIntyre to Nationwide Conference rivals Chester, added: "We're just waiting for Jamie to come back to us.

"We've made him a decent offer. We won't let it go on for ever, but we'll give him plenty of time to see what he wants to do."
